1962 Jell-O

1962 Jell-O on Ebay
1962 Jell-O baseball cards There are 197 cards in this set, each measuring appx. 2-1/2 x 3-1/2 inches (standard baseball card size). These are blank-backed.

Card fronts feature a color photo to the right, while to the left is the card number, the player's name in script, then brief biographical data and a paragraph about his career. Beneath this are the past year's game stats as well as his career stats.

As can be determined from the photo, these were available on the backs of boxes of Jell-O products, to be cut out by the collector (or his mom, presumably).

This set is nearly identical to the 1962 Post Cereal baseball set, only with three cards missing - #29 Brooks Robinson, #82 Ted Kluszewski, and #176 Smoky Burgess. Their numbers aren't given to anyone else in this Jell-O issue, but instead were skipped - which is why the cards number up to 200 but there are actually only 197 in the set. These can be differentiated from the Post cards easily by the lack of the Post cereal logo.

Popular cards in this set include:
5 - Mickey Mantle
6 - Roger Maris
20 - Al Kaline
61 - Carl Yastrzemski
101 - Gil Hodges
109 - Sandy Koufax
110 - Don Drysdale
142 - Willie Mays
173 - Roberto Clemente
