Card fronts feature a black-and-white photo of the player, surrounded by a white border, with a facsimile signature written in marker pen superimposed.
These are similar to other Goudey premiums of that general time. These can be differentiated from those releases by a couple of clues. First, there is no 'Litho in USA' line along the bottom border; second, that the paper is cream-colored; third, that the signature script looks like authentic handwriting rather than being 'fancy' calligraphy; fourth, the white border around the photo.
Note that Type 5 premiums are very similar to these; but those only feature Canadian teams (Montreal and Toronto) so that it may have been a Canadian issue.
The Joe DiMaggio card is the most prominent one in this set, and comprises nearly half of the set value.
